I may earn money or products from the companies mentioned, at no extra cost to you. I only support what I know and love!
Welcome, my witch-loving Marauders, to 130 Best Witch Movies On Netflix: How to Watch Witchy Flicks – A bewitching journey through the enchanting world of Netflix’s finest witch movies! Today, we’re delving deep into the mystical realms of witchcraft stories on the big screen. Whether you’re seeking tales of powerful covens or solitary enchantresses, you’re in for a treat as we unveil the ultimate collection of the best witch movies available for your viewing pleasure right on Netflix.
Editor’s Note: Because movies come and go on the Netflix streaming site (they just go the way of their desire) and it is difficult to keep this post updated (it would end up a new job on business days, LOL), I have included Prime Video links to the movies that are not currently on Netflix as of July 2024. I will update this every year with fresh picks and links. I summarize each movie, instead of giving a full review.
I also couldn’t include an image for each movie because loading one post with 133 images would have given you a poor user experience as you waited for it to load and then it would constantly buffer. I have included a few movie trailers for you to enjoy! Please let me know in the comments below if this post loads too slowly or has trouble scrolling. I am testing the limits of a post for you! – Lori

From the Salem trials to enchanting spells and the spooky kinds of stories about magical powers, join me as we explore these epic moral quandaries witches get into. Whether they are good or evil witches, they have enchanted audiences for centuries. Get ready to brew up some laughter, chills, and maybe even a few tears along the way!
Into the Woods (2014)
In a twist spun by the curse of a once-glamorous witch (played by Meryl Streep), a baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt) find themselves childless. With just three days until a rare blue moon, they dive into the enchanted forest to gather ingredients to break the spell and restore the witch’s allure: a milk-white cow, hair as golden as corn, a blood-red cape, and a slipper of pure gold.
As they journey through the woods, they cross paths with Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack, each on their own quest to make dreams come true. Definitely one of the best witch movies on Netflix!
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf
Imagine this: Vesemir’s epic journey from rags to monster-slaying riches as a witcher, chasing beasts for gold and glory. The story jumps between his reckless youth and seasoned witcher life. Fast forward to today: Vesemir and his pal Luka land in hot water for a brawl that sends two Kaedwani knights packing.
But wait, there’s more! Lady Zerbst convinces the king to send Vesemir and Tetra on a mission to cleanse a cursed forest plagued by Kitsu. Meanwhile, Elf Filvandrel drops a bombshell: the forest is hexed! Now Vesemir must face his inner demons and ponder the age-old question: are witchers meant to slay monsters or stir up trouble?
Fans rave about the stunning animation, heartfelt moments, and a world that feels alive. Critics, however, grumble about a wandering plot, a lackluster finale, and a mentor character as shallow as a puddle.
Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)
This movie makes the top of my list of best witch movies on Netflix! Imagine a fantastical tale where Snow White’s journey unfolds like a whirlwind adventure! In this 2012 gem, “Snow White & the Huntsman,” which was a directorial debut by Rupert Sanders – written by a creative trio—Evan Daugherty, John Lee Hancock, and Hossein Amini—the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale gets a modern, magical makeover.
Picture this: Snow White, played by Kristen Stewart, grows up trapped by her wicked stepmother, Evil Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron), a sorceress with a knack for dark enchantments. But Snow White isn’t just waiting around for a prince—she escapes into the mysterious Dark Forest, where even the queen’s magic falters.
Enter Eric the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth), a rugged warrior who starts off hunting Snow White but soon becomes her ally in a quest to overthrow Ravenna’s reign of terror. Along the way, they encounter trolls, dwarfs (played by some surprisingly familiar faces!), and a band of rebel women who defy the queen’s tyranny in their own unique ways.
With twists and turns as dramatic as Snow White’s legendary red lips, the story unfolds with battles, magic mirrors, and a dose of true love’s kiss that breaks a deadly spell. It’s a tale of courage, friendship, and the power of believing in oneself—perfect for anyone who loves a fairy tale with a modern twist.
So, grab your enchanted apples and join Snow White and her merry band on this epic adventure where bravery and heart reign supreme!

The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2016) (Prime)
In The Huntsman: Winter’s War, brace yourself for a fantastical journey that blends the epic tales of Snow White with a fresh twist on fairytale lore. Join me as we dive into a world where evil queens wield icy powers, and Huntsmen aren’t just rugged heroes—they’re witty warriors with hearts of gold.
Picture this: Chris Hemsworth wielding his axe like a seasoned warrior, battling it out against the forces of black magic led by the fearsome evil queen played by Emily Blunt. It’s like a clash between the forces of witchcraft and the appetite for power, all set against breathtaking production design that transports you to mystical realms.
And let’s not forget about Jessica Chastain, whose fierce portrayal of a warrior woman adds a thrilling layer to this epic saga. With nods to classic tales and a dash of modern storytelling, “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” is your ticket to adventure. So grab your popcorn, settle in for a feature film filled with twists and turns, and prepare to be enchanted by a tale where every editorial contribution counts in unraveling the secrets of this magical world. The first Huntsma movie was better, but still one of the best witch movies on Netflix. I promise.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s/Philosopher’s Stone (2001)
Ok, so this isn’t always on Netflix (in the US), but it is in the UK. Plus it is, in my opinion, the first movie on my list of BEST, best witch movies on Netflix! Apparate into the magical world of Harry Potter and the Sorerer’s Stone, where broomsticks, potions, and talking hats are just the beginning! In this enchanting 2001 film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved book, young Harry Potter discovers he’s not just any kid—he’s a wizard!
Follow Harry, played by the charming Daniel Radcliffe, as he escapes the ordinary world and enters Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. With his pals Hermione Granger (the brainy Emma Watson) and Ron Weasley (the lovable Rupert Grint), they unravel secrets, face off against trolls, and even dodge a three-headed dog named Fluffy!
But watch out for the sneaky Professor Snape (the ever-mysterious Alan Rickman) and the mischievous trio of Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle. With magic around every corner and spells that could turn your socks into slippers, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” is a spellbinding adventure that’ll have you reaching for your wand!
Available exclusively on Netflix in the UK and Ireland, it’s the perfect flick for anyone who dreams of flying on broomsticks or chatting with clever owls. Grab your popcorn, brew a butterbeer, and get ready for a movie night filled with wizardry, wonder, and a dash of mischief! This is one of my favorite witch movies!
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Get ready for a magical romp through Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! This is one of my favorite witch films (except for that heart-wrenching Dumbledore moment), and it is packed with potions, prophecies, and plenty of mischief at Hogwarts.
Join Harry, Hermione, and Ron as they navigate their sixth year at wizarding school. With Dumbledore as their guide (and occasional troublemaker), they uncover dark secrets, brew up potions that bubble and fizz, and even dabble in a bit of teenage romance.
But beware! The looming threat of Voldemort grows stronger, and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. With every twist and turn, this film keeps you on the edge of your broomstick, wondering what magical surprises and heart-pounding challenges await our favorite trio.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a first-time viewer, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is a spellbinding adventure that’ll leave you craving more butterbeer and wishing you had your own invisibility cloak. Grab your wand and settle in for a wizarding journey like no other!
Disappear Completely (2024)
Disappear Completely might suffer from a case of diminishing returns, but there’s a twisted pleasure in watching a cursed man lose his senses one by one in a movie that somehow gets worse as you go. Imagine a blend of “Nightcrawler” and “Drag Me to Hell,” where Santiago (played by the unflappable Harold Torres) finds himself spiraling into a supernatural nightmare after snapping grisly crime scene photos for tabloids.
Director Luis Javier Henain’s Spanish-language horror flick grabbed attention at Fantastic Fest 2022 and finally hit Netflix in the U.S. Picture Santiago, a tabloid photographer with a knack for chasing death, only to find himself losing touch with reality—and his senses—as he unwittingly becomes the subject of his own macabre story.
With a 100% approval on Rotten Tomatoes, this thriller promises a chilling ride that’s perfect for fans of spine-tingling twists and eerie atmospheres. Grab your popcorn (and maybe keep the lights on) for a night of horror that’ll leave you questioning your senses—literally!

Blame! (2017)
At the start of a new school year in a sleepy suburban town, Abigail marches to the beat of her own drum, finding solace in the fantastical worlds of her beloved books. Her quirky nature becomes fodder for Melissa, the school’s resident manipulator, who thrives on stirring up trouble.
Things take a dramatic turn when the charming drama teacher, Jeremy, casts Abigail as the lead in Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible,” sidelining Melissa. As Abigail’s confidence blooms on stage and her connection with Jeremy blurs lines, Melissa’s jealousy ignites a tumultuous chain of events. Her schemes unravel, revealing dark truths that shake their small community to its core.
In this tale of high school drama turned upside down, Blame delves into the tangled web of teenage emotions, ambition, and the consequences of playing with fire.
I Am Not A Witch (2017) (Prime)
Hold onto your broomsticks, Netflix fans! Apparate into I Am Not a Witch, where reality meets magic in a whirlwind of ribbons and rituals. Imagine if Mean Girls went to Hogwarts but with a twist—our heroine, Shula, lands in a village where everyone’s convinced she’s got wizardry up her sleeve. From witch doctors sacrificing chickens to rain dances that rival Singin’ in the Rain, Shula’s journey from outcast to oracle is as enchanting as it is eyebrow-raising.
As Shula navigates trials that make “Judge Judy” look like child’s play, she’s roped into a camp where witches sport ribbons longer than a Lord of the Rings marathon. There’s intrigue, there’s drama, and there’s even a chat show cameo where Shula’s asked why she’s not hitting the books—well, she’s too busy making it rain (or at least trying to). But fear not, there’s a twist in this tale that even The Sixth Sense wouldn’t see coming—cue the goat, the mysterious body, and ribbons fluttering free like confetti at a magical parade.
So, grab your popcorn and join Shula’s wild ride through a world where belief and reality collide faster than Back to the Future. It’s a Netflix adventure that proves sometimes, being a witch (or not) is all about how you weave your story.
Haunted Mansion (2003) (Prime)
Haunted Mansion where ghouls are more hilarious than horrifying! This 2003 comedy is your ticket to spooky fun without the screams. Eddie Murphy stars as a real estate agent who finds himself trapped in a ghostly estate sale that’s more Addams Family than Amityville Horror.
Picture this: Eddie’s character, Jim Evers, thinks he’s on a routine job to sell a mansion, but he ends up negotiating with a ghostly bride instead of a typical buyer. It’s like Ghostbusters meets The Brady Bunch as Jim and his family navigate rooms filled with dancing spirits and talking busts (think a less serious “Harry Potter” Sorting Hat).
As the night unfolds, Jim and his family discover that this haunted house has more secrets than a Scooby-Doo episode. They encounter singing specters, a butler with a flair for dramatic entrances, and a graveyard picnic that’s more Beetlejuice than your average family outing.
With Eddie Murphy’s trademark wit and charm, Haunted Mansion turns Halloween frights into laughter-filled nights. It’s the perfect blend of spooky and silly, where even the ghosts have a sense of humor. So, gather ’round for a comedic haunt-fest that proves ghosts just want to have fun—Netflix style!
Bewitched (2005) (Prime)
Bewitched (2005) is a quirky, magical romp that gives a modern twist to the classic TV series. Imagine if your next-door neighbor just happened to be a witch – and not just any witch, but the enchanting Isabel Bigelow (played by Nicole Kidman), who’s trying to live a normal life away from her magical family.
Isabel dreams of being an actress in Hollywood, but her quirky charm and tendency to accidentally cast spells make for some hilariously disastrous auditions. When she meets Jack Wyatt (played by Will Ferrell), a washed-up actor desperate for a comeback, sparks fly – both on and off the screen. Jack convinces Isabel to star as Samantha in a reboot of Bewitched, not realizing she’s an actual witch with real magic powers.
As they navigate the ups and downs of showbiz, Isabel’s spells create chaos on set, from flying broomsticks to accidentally turning actors into animals. It’s like I Dream of Jeannie meets The Office, with a sprinkle of modern rom-com antics and magical mishaps.
But the real magic happens off-screen as Isabel and Jack’s relationship blossoms – despite meddling from Isabel’s mischievous father (played by Michael Caine) and her doting aunt (played by Shirley MacLaine), who can’t resist meddling in her love life.
With a star-studded cast and plenty of bewitching humor, Bewitched (2005) is a delightful blend of fantasy and comedy that will leave you spellbound. Whether you’re a fan of the original TV series or just love a good laugh, this movie on Prime is sure to cast a smile on your face – no magic required!
The Tragedy of MacBeth (2021) (Apple+)
In Joel Coen’s mesmerizing adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth, the bleak Scottish landscape serves as a haunting backdrop to a tale of ambition, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of power. Denzel Washington embodies the tormented Lord Macbeth, whose encounter with three enigmatic witches sets in motion a relentless quest for kingship. His wife, Lady Macbeth, played by Frances McDormand with chilling intensity, becomes his driving force, urging him to fulfill the witches’ prophecy through deceit and murder.
As Macbeth ascends to the throne through treachery, paranoia grips his soul, leading him deeper into a spiral of guilt and madness. Each step toward power exacts a toll, transforming the once noble warrior into a tyrant haunted by his crimes. Coen’s masterful direction, paired with Bruno Delbonnel’s evocative cinematography, immerses viewers in a world where ambition and supernatural forces intertwine, blurring the lines between fate and free will.
Against a backdrop of mist-shrouded castles and desolate moors, the film explores themes of moral decay, political intrigue, and the destructive allure of ambition. With a stellar supporting cast including Brendan Gleeson, Corey Hawkins, and Harry Melling, The Tragedy of Macbeth is a cinematic tour de force that captures the essence of Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy while offering a fresh and visually stunning interpretation for modern audiences.

Dark Shadows (2012) (Prime)
In this Johnny Depp comedy by Tim Burton, Dark Shadows (2012), a quirky blend of gothic drama and dark comedy unfolds as the cursed Barnabas Collins (played by Johnny Depp) awakens from centuries of slumber into the psychedelic world of 1972. Once a wealthy scion of Collinwood Mansion in Maine, Barnabas is cursed by the witch Angelique (Eva Green) after spurning her advances, turning him into a vampire and burying him alive.
Emerging into the modern era, Barnabas encounters his descendants, including the eccentric matriarch Elizabeth (Michelle Pfeiffer), rebellious Carolyn (Chloë Grace Moretz), and troubled David (Gulliver McGrath). As he tries to restore his family’s fortunes and adjust to disco balls and lava lamps, Barnabas must also contend with Angelique’s continued obsession and supernatural shenanigans.
With Burton’s signature visual style and a soundtrack that grooves through time, Dark Shadows is a tale of undead drama, family secrets, and the challenges of fitting into a world that’s changed more than you can shake a coffin at. As Barnabas navigates his newfound vampire life, complete with unexpected twists and a showdown with his vengeful witchy ex, this film proves that even the dead can’t escape the disco inferno of the ’70s.
And there you have it, witches and wizards! Whether you’re in the mood for potions gone wrong or spells that spark hilarity, these witchy comedies on Netflix are sure to brew up some laughter. So grab your popcorn, cozy up with your familiars, and enjoy the magic of laughter with these enchanting films!

Eve’s Bayou (1997)
In the sultry Louisiana of Eve’s Bayou (1997), where secrets simmer like gumbo and family drama thickens the air, young Eve Batiste navigates a world as mystically tangled as Spanish moss in a bayou breeze.
Set in the ’60s, this Southern Gothic tale spins around Eve, her quirky siblings, and their parents—especially Louis, a respected doctor whose scandals rival the juiciest gossip in town. When Eve catches him in a compromising moment with family friend Matty Mereaux, it triggers a chain reaction of revelations that could swamp their genteel façade.
Turning to Aunt Mozelle, a Hoodoo practitioner with wisdom as potent as a Louisiana summer storm, Eve seeks clarity amidst dreams and whispers of voodoo. She unravels family secrets that weave through the bayou’s murky waters.
Eve’s Bayou brews a potent mix of Southern charm and supernatural intrigue, where family bonds prove tougher than cypress roots, and every secret lurks like a ghost in the moss-draped shadows of Louisiana lore.

Join us for a cinematic séance that’s part mystery, part maternity mayhem, and all wrapped up in a devilishly stylish package. Rosemary’s Baby will have you guessing till the credits roll—just remember to lock your doors and hide your herbs.
American Horror Story (2011 -?)
Step right up, ladies and ghouls, to the twisted carnival of American Horror Story! This freaky-deaky TV series is like a haunted house ride on steroids, where every season is a wild rollercoaster through your worst nightmares.
Picture this: a haunted house with more ghosts than a graveyard picnic, a creepy circus where the clowns are more terrifying than a tax audit, and a witchy coven where the fashion is to die for (literally). Oh, and let’s not forget the hotel where checking in might mean checking out permanently.
Each season, you’ll meet a new cast of characters who are as messed up as a game of Twister in a tornado. There’s always a dollop of gore, a pinch of the paranormal, and enough plot twists to make your head spin like a possessed top.
But hey, it’s not all screams and nightmares. Between the spine-chilling scares, there’s some dark humor that’ll make you cackle louder than a witch’s brew bubbling over. Plus, the cinematography? It’s so good, you’ll think Hitchcock and Tim Burton had a lovechild.
So grab your popcorn (and maybe a crucifix or two), because American Horror Story isn’t just a show—it’s a thrill ride through the twisted minds of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Just remember to keep the lights on and the doors locked. You never know what’s lurking in the shadows…
American Horror Stories Season 1 Trailer
Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Welcome to Sleepy Hollow, where heads roll and legends come to life faster than you can say “Ichabod Crane.” This quirky, gothic tale from 1999 takes Washington Irving’s classic story and adds a hefty dose of Tim Burton’s eerie charm.
Ichabod Crane, a quirky detective with an obsession for forensic science (back when CSI was just a twinkle in someone’s eye), is sent to investigate a series of decapitations in the small, spooky town of Sleepy Hollow. Armed with his scientific gadgets and nervous wit, Ichabod finds himself neck-deep in a mystery involving a headless horseman with a penchant for collecting heads like they’re rare baseball cards.
But wait, there’s more! As Ichabod unravels the town’s secrets, he encounters Katrina Van Tassel, a bewitching beauty who may hold the key to the Horseman’s unholy wrath. Together (with some help from a mystical tree and a few suspicious townsfolk), they must uncover the truth before the Horseman turns Sleepy Hollow into a ghost town—literally.
With Tim Burton’s signature blend of creepy visuals and dark humor, Sleepy Hollow is a chilling ride through fog-filled forests, haunted mansions, and a cemetery that’s more crowded than a Black Friday sale. Johnny Depp brings Ichabod to life with all the charm of a nervous schoolteacher caught in a nightmare, while Christopher Walken’s Horseman gives new meaning to the phrase “losing your head.”
So, buckle up, grab your pumpkin spice latte (or maybe something stronger), and prepare for a spooky adventure that’s part murder mystery, part ghost story, and all Tim Burton-esque weirdness. Just remember, if you hear hoofbeats in the night, it might not be Santa’s reindeer—it could be the Horseman coming for you!
Stardust (2007) (Prime)

Venturing beyond the Wall, Tristan encounters the evil witch Lamia (played by Michelle Pfeiffer). Along the way, he meets a colorful array of characters, from the iconic witch Bette Midler to the enigmatic forces of witchcraft embodied by Lamia herself. The Witches of Salem: The Horror and the Hope (1972) (Kanopy)
In The Witches of Salem: The Horror and the Hope (1972), directorial debutante Christian Blauvelt plunges into the haunting depths of 1630s New England, where the unrelenting forces of witchcraft clash with the unwavering spirit of a small town. Led by an ensemble cast including Susan Sarandon and Daniel Day-Lewis, this film adaptation brings centuries of storytelling to life, capturing the eerie essence of Salem’s dark past.
As the town grapples with an epidemic of hysteria, a young boy and his best friends uncover a cauldron bubble of evil witches hidden amidst their community. With each flicker of the bonfire and whisper of the wind, the film delves into what people do to people when they fear them. From spellbinding adventures to spooky thrills, Netflix offers a cauldron full of cinematic delights. Don’t forget to stir the pot with your favorites and let the magic unfold!
Witchfinder General (1968)
In Witchfinder General (1968), Matthew Hopkins isn’t your average witch enthusiast—he’s more like a 17th-century ghostbuster, but way scarier. Played by the menacing Vincent Price, Hopkins gallops through the English countryside with an unceasing appetite for witch-hunting, making him a real contender for the title of Most Unwanted Dinner Guest. This film isn’t just about pointing fingers at random broomstick owners; it’s a fearsome horror genre showdown where witchcraft meets Daniel Day-Lewis levels of intensity.
Join me on this trip through 1630s New England where Susan Sarandon’s distant cousin (probably) faces off against Hopkins in a battle of wits and magical powers. With its eerie atmosphere and Robert Eggers-worthy production design, Witchfinder General serves up centuries of storytelling with a side of devilish detail of witchy legend. Whether you’re a fan of dark historical dramas or just love a good witch movie, this classic flick will have you checking under your bed for suspicious herbs and hexes.
The Crucible (1996)
In the heart of 1692 Salem, where witch hunts are hotter than a blacksmith’s forge, “The Crucible” (1996) ignites a historical drama more intense than a midnight seance.
Meet John Proctor, a rugged farmer with charisma that could melt butter even in the chilliest Puritan winter. When a group of girls starts screaming about witchcraft faster than you can say “double, double, toil and trouble,” Salem goes from quaint village to full-on witch-hunting extravaganza.
Led by the fiery Abigail Williams, these girls point fingers faster than a coven conjuring up a storm. Accusations fly like bats at midnight, and soon everyone’s wondering who’s innocent and who’s stirring the cauldron.
Amidst the hysteria, John Proctor stands tall like a New England oak, battling not just for justice, but for his own soul and to save his wife, Elizabeth, from the flaming fingers of suspicion.
“The Crucible” heats up with accusations, revelations, and enough drama to rival the Salem summer heat. Join us for a witch-hunt spectacle that’s as gripping as a Salem sermon and as thrilling as a midnight ride through the haunted woods.

Phenomena (2023)
Phenomena (2023) brings together three middle-aged women and a priest to form the Hepta Group, a paranormal investigation team tackling eerie cases. When their leader, Father Pilón, vanishes during a routine antique shop investigation, Sagrario, Paz, and Gloria find themselves juggling personal dramas while navigating supernatural mysteries.
Their affectionate bickering adds a quirky charm, especially just before they conduct séances. While the plot may feel familiar, their lively chemistry keeps things entertaining, even if the scares aren’t hair-raising for seasoned horror buffs. It’s a bit of a throwback, occasionally uneven, but technically solid—a lighthearted entry that might tickle newcomers to the genre.
Belén Rueda, Gracia Olayo, and Toni Acosta shine in roles that echo “Ghostbusters” vibes but with a twist of real-life paranormal intrigue. Expect some jumpscares, though the film’s true highlight is its comedic interplay, akin to spirited middle-aged aunties on a mischievous adventure. While not groundbreaking, Phenomena offers a breezy, fun-filled watch that resonates with its spirited trio leading the charge.
Season of the Witch (2011)
In Season of the Witch (2011), Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman team up as medieval knights weary of war and eager for something new—like a break from slaying dragons to battle sinister witches. Picture Monty Python and the Holy Grail meets The Blair Witch Project, but with more epic sword fights and less shaky cam.
When they’re tasked with escorting a suspected witch (played by Claire Foy, channeling her inner Maleficent) to a distant monastery for a trial, our duo faces creepy forests straight out of The Witch and eerie towns reminiscent of Sleepy Hollow. Along the way, they encounter possessed villagers and fog-shrouded paths that scream The Village.
Cage and Perlman bring their signature blend of humor and intensity, making this a rollercoaster ride through dark magic, medieval mayhem, and enough spooky vibes to keep you glancing over your shoulder—just in case a witch decides to crash your next Renaissance fair. So, grab your broomsticks and knight swords, because Season of the Witch promises thrills, chills, and maybe even a potion or two.

Coven of Sisters (2021)
In Coven of Sisters (2021), set against the backdrop of 17th-century Basque Country, a group of young women discovers their supernatural abilities during the intense scrutiny of the Spanish Inquisition (talk about bad timing!). Led by the bold Ana, played by Amaia Aberasturi, these witches navigate their newfound powers and sisterhood amidst the threat of persecution.
They form a coven faster than you can say “Abracadabra.” Cue the magical mishaps, like a hex gone wrong that turns the local baker into a toad (who knew gluten-free spells were so tricky?). As they weave spells and brew potions in secret gatherings, the film blends historical drama with elements of witchcraft, offering a spellbinding narrative reminiscent of ancient folklore.
With stunning cinematography capturing the mystical landscapes and a soundtrack that evokes both medieval mysticism and contemporary intrigue, Coven of Sisters is a tale of empowerment and resilience in the face of fear and oppression. So, grab your favorite security blanket and prepare for a journey into the world where magic meets historical drama!

The Ritual (2018)
In The Ritual (2018), four pals embark on a picturesque hiking trip through the Swedish wilderness—because what could possibly go wrong in a forest straight out of a Viking metal album cover?
When one of them suggests a shortcut through the woods, cue the horror movie checklist: creepy symbols carved into trees, ominous sounds at night, and a sense of being watched that’s only slightly less comforting than getting a friend request from your ex’s mom on Facebook.
As tensions rise and bromances are tested, they stumble upon an ancient Norse cult that’s into some seriously weird stuff—like human sacrifices and decorating with antlers. Think Survivor meets The Blair Witch Project, but with more Nordic noir and less s’mores. Will they make it out alive? Or will they end up as IKEA display pieces in Odin’s living room? Grab your hiking boots and find out in The Ritual, where even the trees have eyes and the only thing scarier than the forest is your friend’s map-reading skills.

Apostle (2018)
In Apostle (2018), Dan Stevens trades his dashing Downton Abbey suits for mud, blood, and a good old-fashioned cult. He’s on a rescue mission to save his sister from a bizarre island community that makes Wicker Man’s pagan picnics look like a backyard BBQ.
Will he rescue his sister, or will he end up as the main course at the cult’s next banquet? Apostle serves up suspense, scares, and more twists than a pretzel at Oktoberfest. Just remember: not all island getaways are created equal, especially when there’s a cult and a side of madness on the menu.
Armed with determination and a questionable disguise, Stevens infiltrates the cult, only to discover they’re more into blood rituals than Sunday sermons. It’s like “Mission: Impossible” meets “The Village,” but with fewer gadgets and more goats. And speaking of goats, there’s a creepy one-eyed prophet who’s all about divine messages and goat yoga—minus the zen, plus the sacrifice.
The Wretched (2020) (Prime)
In The Wretched (2020), teenage angst meets ancient witchcraft in a sleepy lakeside town. Ben, our brooding hero, isn’t just battling puberty; he’s up against a centuries-old witch who’s swapped her broom for a taste for flesh.

The Pale Blue Eye | Official Trailer | Netflix
The Privelege (2022)
The Privilege, a fresh horror flick from Germany (Das Privileg), brings in some familiar faces from the hit series Dark, and they really deliver! Max Schimmelpfennig, known for his role as “Young Noah” in Dark, takes the lead as Finn, a young man haunted by nightmares and visions after his sister’s tragic death. And alongside him is Lea van Acken, also from Dark, playing Lena, Finn’s no-nonsense best friend determined to unravel the dark secrets lurking within Finn’s family.
Now, while the cast gives it their all—seriously, they nail their roles—the movie itself hits a few bumps. The storyline feels a bit forced at times, pushing characters into situations that don’t always feel natural. Plus, attempts to make the dialogue current and edgy can come off a bit awkward. It’s like they tried to be Jordan Peele-cool but missed the mark.
And speaking of misses, the trailer? It’s like a highlight reel that gives away too much. Sure, it sets up an action-packed vibe, but it might spoil the surprises along the way. Also, they tease a Jordan Peele vibe with the sound and score, but that doesn’t quite match up in the actual movie.
Despite its flaws, The Privilege leans hard on its cast to carry a story that, while intriguing, doesn’t quite hit the mark it aims for. So, if you’re up for a flick with familiar faces and some spooky moments, give it a shot. Just don’t expect it to be the next horror masterpiece.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (2017) (Prime)
Once upon a time in 2017, Snow White, the original Disney princess, got a modern animated makeover! Directed by Karthik Chandan, this 49-minute gem sparkles with great voice acting, stunning animation, and a soundtrack that makes you want to dance with dwarfs.
In this reimagined tale, Snow White’s evil stepmother is so jealous of her beauty that she banishes her into a wild forest. But fear not! Our princess finds safety and friendship with seven dwarf miners who teach her the ropes of survival in the woods.
Of course, no fairy tale is complete without a wicked twist! The jealous queen, disguised as a wrinkly hag, tricks Snow White with a poisoned apple, sending her into a deep, death-like sleep. Only true love’s kiss can wake our slumbering princess.
Enter the dashing prince, who not only saves Snow White but also serves up some poetic justice for the evil queen. Let’s just say her punishment involves red-hot iron slippers and a lot of uncomfortable dancing.
With happily-ever-afters and a touch of modern magic, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (2017) proves that even classic tales can get a fresh, whimsical spin! One review said the movie was “life changing” and rated it a 10/10! How is THAT for a makeover?!

Penny Dreadful (2014 – 2016) (Prime)
Penny Dreadful isn’t your typical cup of tea—it’s more like a cauldron of dark, brooding, and delightfully creepy brew. Imagine Victorian London, where every cobblestone hides a ghastly secret and every gas lamp flickers ominously. Now add in some of literature’s most notorious characters—Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, and even Dracula himself—because why not throw a supernatural house party?
Our fearless heroine, Vanessa Ives, navigates this eerie landscape with a mix of sass and spellbooks. She’s on a quest to uncover the mysteries of the occult while dodging ancient curses, bloodthirsty vampires, and the occasional existential crisis. Did we mention there’s also a sharp-dressed werewolf in the mix? Yeah, things get hairy.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. Picture Vanessa’s squad: a rugged gunslinger with a heart of gold, a mad scientist who’s great with a scalpel and terrible with relationships, and a mysterious stranger who’s always one step ahead (and probably up to something). Together, they battle supernatural forces while trying to keep their Victorian fashion on point.
With more twists than a witch’s broomstick and more drama than a séance gone wrong, Penny Dreadful is your ticket to a gothic rollercoaster ride through the shadows of the past. Grab your top hat and prepare to be spooked, thrilled, and maybe even charmed by this devilishly good series.
Legacies (2018)
Welcome to Legacies, where being a teenager means dealing with the usual drama—plus, you know, being a witch, vampire, or werewolf. Think Hogwarts meets high school, but with more mystical mishaps and fewer Quidditch matches.
Our protagonist, Hope Mikaelson, is like if Hermione Granger had a dark and brooding side (and fangs). She’s part vampire, part werewolf, and all-around trouble magnet. Alongside her supernatural squad, she navigates a school where math class might involve potions and P.E. means dodging spells instead of dodgeballs.
The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted is where witches whip up spells and vampires debate the ethics of sparkling in sunlight. Throw in some ancient curses, a few love triangles (or squares, depending on the lunar cycle), and a monster-of-the-week, and you’ve got a recipe for supernatural chaos.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. Picture a school dance where the DJ spins “Thriller” and everyone actually knows the lyrics because, well, some of them are living it. There are heart-to-hearts in crypts, detention in haunted forests, and cafeteria food that might just bite back.
With more twists than a potion gone wrong and more teen angst than a vampire diary, Legacies is your binge-worthy ticket to a world where detention means battling ancient spirits and graduation might involve saving the world. Grab your spellbook and get ready for a supernatural ride that’s equal parts hilarious, spooky, and totally epic.

But it’s not all incantations and flying broomsticks—there’s drama, romance, and family secrets that make their magical lives as complicated as a spell with too many ingredients. And with a penchant for summoning trouble faster than you can blink, these sisters prove that sometimes the best magic is the bond of sisterhood itself.
So, grab your crystals, dust off your cauldron, and get ready for a bewitching binge that’s part fantasy, part family drama, and all fun. Because in the world of Charmed, every day is a magical adventure waiting to happen! This was a favorite series of mine for a long time! Every witch movie lover should have this series in their grimoire!
Invisible City (2021)
Invisible City is like a Brazilian carnival of supernatural mysteries and mythical creatures, where folklore meets forensic science in the streets of Rio de Janeiro! Meet Eric, a brooding environmental cop who stumbles upon a bizarre case involving a mysterious creature straight out of Brazilian mythology—the Cuca.
As Eric dives deeper into the strange and spooky world of these mythical beings, he uncovers a hidden society of shape-shifting witches, mischievous forest spirits, and a talking fox with more sass than a carnival dancer. Alongside a ragtag team of quirky investigators, including a tech-savvy scientist and a samba-dancing shaman, Eric must navigate dark alleys and even darker secrets to uncover the truth behind the supernatural occurrences plaguing his city.
But it’s not all serious sleuthing—there’s romance brewing amidst the chaos, with sparks flying hotter than a sizzling churrasco grill. And just when you think you’ve got the mystery figured out, the plot twists like a samba dancer’s hips, keeping you guessing until the very last episode.
So, grab your caipirinhas, put on your dancing shoes, and join Eric and his crew on a wild ride through the enchanted streets of Rio. Because in Invisible City, every shadow hides a secret, and every myth has a story waiting to be uncovered!
Requiem (2018)
Requiem turns Welsh countryside serenity into a spooky symphony! Meet Matilda, a hotshot cellist whose life hits a bizarre note when she discovers she might be the missing child from a creepy cold case in a small Welsh town.
Armed with her cello and a knack for uncovering ghostly secrets, Matilda and her friends embark on a quest that’s part Nancy Drew, part X-Files. As they dig deeper, they unearth more than dusty old bones—there’s a whole orchestra of supernatural shenanigans lurking beneath the tranquil surface of rural Wales.
From eerie old mansions haunted by poltergeists to ancient Welsh legends that come to life, Matilda and her crew navigate a haunting maze of clues and creepy encounters. Along the way, they encounter locals with more secrets than sheep in the hills, and even Matilda’s own mind starts playing haunting melodies.
But fear not, amidst the mystery and mayhem, there’s room for a bit of Welsh charm and humor. Whether it’s deciphering cryptic notes or dodging strange rituals, Matilda and her gang keep their cool (mostly) and their wit sharp.

As owners of the town’s only funeral home and keepers of ancient rituals, the Hastings know that when darkness falls, the real work begins.

Freud (2020)
In a blend of historical fiction and psychological intrigue, Freud introduces us to the legendary Sigmund Freud in his younger, more adventurous days. Set in 1880s Vienna, where intrigue and innovation mingle like spirits at a seance, young Freud finds himself embroiled in a web of dark secrets and occult mysteries.
As a budding neurologist with unconventional methods, Freud teams up with a psychic medium and a skeptical detective to solve a series of bizarre murders plaguing the city. But it’s not just any killer they’re up against—it’s a sinister force that delves into the depths of the human psyche and beyond.

Along the way, he encounters a cast of characters as enigmatic as the dreams he analyzes, from aristocrats dabbling in the occult to revolutionaries plotting against the empire.
Filled with twists, turns, and a touch of the supernatural, Freud paints a thrilling portrait of the legendary psychiatrist as you’ve never seen him before—a young man on the brink of discovering the secrets of the mind, the soul, and the dark forces that lurk in the shadows of Vienna’s gaslit streets.
